My ambition is working with kids. I’ve been around kids my entire life and I enjoy taking care of them and also educating them. I find it very fun and enjoyable, and those feelings drive me to pursue a career that involves kids. So i’ve decided to become a teacher until I get married and then I will own my own daycare. Right now I volunteer at a daycare center that have been going to since I was 3 months old. Some kids in many places around the world don’t have an education system and when I’m old enough, I would like to travel places so I could educate them. My greatest strength is having the ability to help others. It’s amazing to get to be able to teach young children and help them mold into mature young adults. I also help my friends with anything they need. I love helping others especially with education because I love learning and applying what I learn so I can teach others. They always make my day. I hold the value of being able to help others learn. So many kids go without an education every year and it would be so great if I could be able to change that and help them. I could live by those values by pursuing a career of teaching. I hope to be an elementary school teacher, then travel around the world and after I hope to own my own daycare. It makes me happy to teach other children and be around them. I feel like I can make a difference with a career of teaching. I also feel that I have many strong suits that can help all types of kids. Sometimes I even tutor some kids for math, and that gives me more motivation to push myself to become a teacher. For a job right now, I babysit others in and around my neighborhood, and that gives me more time to help and care for more kids. When I was at the daycare when I was younger, I always went there even after school to help. That sparked my ambition to be a teacher/daycare owner. Ever since then, I have always loved being around children and helping them with education.
By: Erin Ward In my life I love playing Baseball and Hockey. I know that my chance of ever making a career out of playing professional sports is miniscule, but it is the source of ambition in my life. No matter what I end up doing with my life I will always be passionate about sports especially hockey and baseball. I am a very competitive person so sports have always been a very important part of my life and I always want them to have an impact on what I do. Ideally my future profession would be involved with sports. I believe that there are very important values that sports can teach young kids as well as adults. I have played hockey and baseball my whole life and I have learned these values along the way. There are many great values that sports can teach an individual but I believe that one of the most impactful values that sports have taught me is that with hard work you can accomplish any goal that you set for yourself. I have always worked very hard to be good at sports and I have learned that with a lot of work practicing my skills I can be a much better player whether I am skating on the ice or running the bases. I have taken a lot of these values that I have learned and applied them to my life outside of sports as well. I have always worked as hard in school as I do in sports and because of it I have made the honor roll every term of the school year since 5th grade. I take pride in the fact that I am a hard worker in all aspects of my life whether it’s school, sports or any other thing that I have to do. I believe that one of my greatest strengths as a person, aside from being a hard worker, is that I am a very persevering person. No matter how hard a task may seem I always persevere until I have accomplished what I wanted or needed to do. So to sum it all up I am not completely sure what I want to do with my life after school is over. I do know that I want to go to college and continue my education. I also know that I want sports especially hockey and baseball to play a role in my life because they are my passion and I am always working hard on improving my athletic ability because I am very ambitious about being an athlete. I believe that the core values I have learned through playing sports especially being a hard worker and being persevering will help me in my life after school. I know that I will be able to open doors for myself and find a great career for myself as long as I live my life by these values.
By: Matt Skillings After my school career comes to a close, I plan on leading a very productive and enriched life. I want to be successful in my career, family, and overall life. I want to be able to help people medically and make a difference in the world. The source of my ambition is probably my family or my passion to help others. My family has been very influential in encouraging me to work hard at school and to be a good person. In my life, I want to be able to make my parents and other relatives proud. I also think my desire to help others and have the medical capabilities to help others drives me to work hard in life. My greatest strength is probably my arm wrestling skills. Just kidding! I think my greatest strength could be my ability to focus or my ambition. When I want something, I will work hard for it. I love to do a lot of things. I love to play sports, to read, and I love studying science. In my life, I value integrity and honesty among other things. I try to be as honest as I can in my life. I also value my faith, which I live out by going to church and being a good person. I also aspire to have a large and loving family. Today, in high school, I lay the groundworks for the rest of my life. The choices I make today will impact the rest of my life and the choices I will make later. If I work hard now, I will be able to achieve my dreams and be successful. Working hard is a very important concept to me. I work hard at school, in my job, and at sports. I try to involve myself with a lot of things without stretching myself too thin. Another value of mine is knowledge. I demonstrate my appreciation for knowledge in my life today when I pay attention in school, do my homework, and try to my hardest to learn and understand my classes. I also spend time studying to make sure I completely understand so I can get good grades and be better prepared for life outside of high school. Hopefully my future self will be rewarded with all the hard work I am putting in and planning on putting in now.
By: Amy Shanahan Throughout the next years of my life, I hope to be seeings and experiencing many changes in how I act, think, the amount of knowledge I possess, and my opinions. Right now, I would consider myself an average 14 year old. I have a job, as a waitress, and I get mostly Aś in school. I want to continue with the amount of ambition I possess, and increase how much work and effort I put in to every day. The source of my ambition comes from seeing the amount of success my other family members have had. My brother, as only a sophomore, was accepted into a private school and is being contacted by colleges interested in his baseball skills. My father is the president of a nationwide chain of gyms and is an extremely successful businessman. My mom does a lot on volunteer work, and focuses most of her days on helping others and saving animals. By seeing all of the success, determination, and perseverance all of my family members have, I am inspired on a day-to-day basis to try my best, as I aspire to be like them. In the future, I want to get into a good college, and although I am unsure of my future career, I know I want it to be focussed on helping others and impacting the world around me. I have started researching the commitment and skills needed to become both an occupational therapist and a journalist. Both occupations seem like something I would enjoy doing, and I will continue to further work towards achieving these goals. In my future selfie, I also hope to be aside my family. I would love to get married and have children, and give them the support and love that my parents have always and continue to give me everyday. I want to make my family, friends, and myself proud. I know that if I do not achieve everything that I want to do and know I am capable of, I will not feel like my life is complete, and forever be wishing I could do what I wanted to do before it is too late. In my future selfie, I really hope to have made an impact on everyone around me, my desires are fulfilled, and that my family has the support and care that they deserve.
By: Abigail Federico After many continuous years of school, I hope to strive and achieve my life goals. During these years of school, I have learned my strengths, whether it was working on projects or taking tests and quizzes. I have learned many things about myself that I did not know because of the peers around my, including my family. My greatest strength is my ability to stay focused and doing my best in school. In school, I am always focusing on work to not only get good grades, but to prove to myself that I am able to do these things and push myself even harder. I will continue these strengths at my best capability in my life after college to be successful. My source of ambition is from my family because they push me hard to be my best self and they also direct me into the right path in life. My family has been a big part of my life and I hope they continue to be because they do so much for me. In school and outside of school, I enjoy doing many things, but the one I most believe will bring me most success in life is my love for math. I love to solve and test my ability on math problems, I feel as though they are most useful in my everyday life and hopefully in my future. All though I enjoy learning about many historical events and sometimes writing, but I want to pursue a math related job, whether it is engineering or accounting. Values are an important part of my life, not only do they keep me from doing the wrong things, but encourage me to reach my highest potential. My mom and dad always told me many values ever since I was young, and they have always stuck with me. My most favorite values are to never assume anything and to always be kind to others. You never know what a person had been through or how awful their lives actually are. Being kind in the most positive way might make someone’s day better than it was before, making someone smile or laugh when they are feeling down can even make you a whole lot happier as well. I am determined to continue these values and pass them down to further generations as they are important to everyone.
By: Hailey Arsenault In the future my goal is to create meaningful pieces of visual art especially film making and video production. I want to use these pieces of art sculpt viewer’s experiences and awareness. My general philosophy on my future is that everyone dies eventually, my goal is to become immortal through the body of my work. I want to be remembered through the work I have created and the hearts and minds that I have impacted. I want to use my skills in video production to make art that I am proud to call an extension of myself. In the future I want to create worlds through my art that others can observe. I don’t know how my future will unravel, no one truly does, but if I spend my days behind a camera or in an editing bay my life will be well spent. These goals keep me from wasting my life toiling away in a cubicle. The future of each individual is erratic, but through strong-willed persistence we are able to reign in the wild unkempt beast that is our future instead of being trampled by it. If I can invoke any real emotions within even one viewer of my art than I will consider the risks involved in pursuing such a career completely worth it. The goal of any meaningful art is to convey a message or emotion, that is one of the philosophies that I plan to pave my future with. My motivations are not trivial things such as money, fame, and approval. My motivations are to make people feel. People now are so overstimulated by the media I feel the need to create something that I feel is different than all the other films and projects being crafted by independent creators or mindlessly manufacture by corporate studios. I have the intense desire to use my future to create cinema like no one has seen before. It may not be globally successful, but if it fulfills my vision than I will feel justified, but never sated. I do not mean to sound ungrateful when I say I will never be satisfied, but it is true. I will never cease striving for improvement. I would not refer to myself as a perfectionist because nothing that I create in my future will be perfect, but it will be meaningful and that is what I want my future to be.
